Simple GesturesLonely wolf, bleeding and wounded on the snowy groundHe snarles as a woman comes aroundIgnoring his warning, she bends down in the white snow stained maroonShe tears off her sleeves and begins to dress his woundsHe lets his guard down, he knows he needs helpHe reverts back to the time when he was just a young whelpEven though he can tear her limb from limb with his mighty jawsAnd he can break her to pieces with his razor clawsShe seems unafraid by this creature belonging to the moonBut she must get him back on all four paws soonShe works with determination and quick deft handsAnd is slightly surprized that this is something wolf can with standShe finishes her job, and gives a pat on his headWolf stands up with effort, and lightly licks her on the face, greatful he isn't deadShe gives a smile, and gestures for him to goHe looks back one last time as he runs away, knowing he is able to come back to the girl in the snow.

AutopsyThe table is cold, she cannot moveThe metal beneath her is icy and smoothHer eyes are glued shut, she cannot seeShe is being prepared for her autopsyThe coroner stands above with a saw in handThe blade comes to life at his simple commandHe digs into her chest, and cuts her upHe doesn't break a sweat, not a hiccupHe pulls out her heart, and examines it soIt is course and rough and has caught an arrowIt's so full of stitches and healing woundsNo wonder she's dead, there was no room for it's health to improveThe coroner puts the heart in a jar of clear liquidThe smell is pungent, strong, and acridA moment later, he pulls it back out,And places it in the girl, and restores her with doubt.
RainOne day again the rain shall fall, and wash away the trouble. The creeks and rivers will come back to life and once again begin to bubble. The leaves and trees will go back to green, and birds will sing their songsGardens will begin to grow again and bugs will go where they belong. One day again the rain shall fall, and paint the sky with grayThe dust will settle down for once, and be still for a dayThe ants will build their nests up high to keep from flooding outThey are prepared to face the end of this terrible drought. One day again the rain shall fall, and I shall stand out with itThe hair on my head soaking wet, as I close my eyes and embrace itThe water drips off my arms and fingers as I let I pour over meThe cool feeling and sound of pattering drops brings me pure sweet serenity.
